Hi 👋 ! We're Valla, and we're looking for a Data Scientist to join our lovely team. If you care about helping under-represented people and love to geek out with data and the law, read on!
Valla was created in 2020 by Kate Ho and Danae Shell, two women from the technology industry who had faced workplace discrimination. After looking into their legal options, they realised that most people who are treated unfairly can’t afford to get justice, and set out to build a platform that would make legal services more accessible and affordable.
Valla’s DIY law platform helps people resolve employment issues themselves -- people can collect evidence, generate legal letters and navigate the legal processes.
We have recently received grant funding to automate the evidence collection process, helping users to sort their emails and screenshots and build their case timeline. As our data scientist, you will work directly with our co-founder and CTPO Kate to:

Valla is based in Edinburgh and fully remote (like everyone else!). We're open to candidates in Edinburgh and remote candidates across the UK. We're not able to sponsor candidates so you will need to already have the right to work in the UK.
